 Interested in Directing a Theatre Production in 2026? We Welcome Your Proposals!

The Tauranga Repertory Society, trading as 16th Ave Theatre, proudly produces four major shows annually. We are currently seeking directors who are interested in directing plays at our venue.in 2026. 

Our goal is to attract a diverse range of actors and crew members, with particular interest in engaging our younger members. We welcome proposals for various genres, including drama, comedy, murder mystery, New Zealand plays, and potentially plays with music (though not full-scale musicals).

For Aspiring Directors

If you are new to directing or have experience as an assistant director and wish to direct a productionn of your own, we offer mentorship from seasoned directors to support your development. Our aim is to facilitate your success.

At 16th Ave Theatre, we strive to provide the right people to support your endeavors and encourage collaboration with individuals you wish to bring on board. We maintain strong relationships with other theatre groups in Tauranga and are dedicated to nurturing a vibrant theatre community.

We have established clear expectations for directors, cast, and crews, along with robust policies to support your Production Team. You will have access to our Production Bible, Stage Managers Manual, Health and Wellbeing Policies, and People Management Policies.
