A gripping drama based on the true story of Ruth Ellis, the last woman to be hanged in Britain.The play explores Ruth’s tumultuous life as a nightclub hostess in 1950’s London, her passionate yet destructive love affair with racingdriver David Blakely, and the tragic events that led her to commit murder.  Through a mix of noir-inspired story-telling and emotional depth, the play delves into the themes of love, obsession and the harsh realities faced by women in a male dominated world.

The play has five characters.

Ruth Ellis - a nightclub hostess

Jack Gale - a detective inspector

Sylvia Shaw - a nightclub manageress

Vickie  Martin -a model and actress

Doris Judd - an employee of Sylvias’s

The women are in their 20’s to 40’s and the detective is 40’s to 60’s.
Playing age is much more important than actual age.
