• Please arrive early and take your seat in the auditorium when requested by our Front of House personnel. You may bring refreshments purchased from our Green Room Bar  into the auditorium to enjoy during the performance.
  • Late arrivals will need to enter the theatre via the side entrance as the front door will be closed when the performance is about to begin.   Our Front of House personnel will seat you in an easily accessible seat at an appropriate time in the play.   Please be aware that for some productions it will not be possible to seat late-comers as it will be distracting for the cast and other patrons.
  • No talking unless audience participation is requested by the performers. If something must be said, whisper it quickly. Excessively shushing a talkative neighbour can be just as disturbing.
  • Use good posture. Auditorium seating is often arranged so that the person in the seat behind can see between the two seats in front, so slumping sideways or lounging on your partner’s shoulder may blocks their view.
  • Noises off. Turn off cell phones, beepers, audible watches, and any other sound-making gadgets before any performance.
  • Lights out. Do not forget, the light on your mobile device can be a distraction too.
  • Snap, crackle, pop. No rattling of potato crisp or lolly packets
  • Control coughing. Muffle coughs and sneezes with a handkerchief. Cough drops and mints may be helpful but leave if you cannot stop the coughing fit. Our Front of House personnel will assist you to the Green Room if necessary.
  • Avoid other sounds that can disturb the people around you and the performers. Munching noisily, rattling the pages of programs, tapping feet, or drumming fingers, humming, or singing along, rummaging in purses, reading texts on your phone —these are just a few things that can annoy those around you and can distract the performers.
  • Taking photos and videos of the performance is strictly forbidden, due to copyright regulations.
  • Spilled drinks. Please tell one of our Front of House personnel if anything is spilled, as a courtesy to the next person who has your seat.
  • Thank you.   We hope you have an enjoyable experience at 16 th  Ave Theatre.   Please let the Front of House staff know if you have any suggestions to improve our service.
